All maintenance work requires expert knowl
edge, so please consult your local bicycle
shop. This is not something that should be
done by children. However, interested chil
dren's eyes are welcome.
Good cleaning keeps corrosion away
(rust protection). All painted and
chromeplated parts can be cleaned
and preserved using commercially available
car maintenance products. Only use environ
mentally friendly products and never use any
aggressive detergents. Regularly lubricate the
chain (chain oil or universal oil) and clean it if
necessary.
Note: the sides of the rims (brake surfaces)
must be kept free from grease!
The adjustment and lubrication of the wheel
hubs and ball bearings must be checked by a
professional from time to time. The bike must
be protected against salt sprinkled on the
roads in winter. Avoid the bike being stored in
moist rooms (such as a garage) for a long pe
riod.
Note!
Do not use a highpressure cleaner or
steam jet to clean the bike.
