4.1.2- Storage precaution for transmitter integrating a battery

Transmitter with internal battery must be stored charged with a minimum of charge capacity of 40%.
The storage must be in a clean and dry place at room temperature, and in all cases, in accordance
with the temperatures specified in chapter Technical charactéristics (previous page).
Self-discharge is estimated at 10% the first month and then lower (it is mandatory to recharge the
battery every 9 months min.).
The number of full charge cycles is 300 minimum (without damaging the battery capacity).

4.1.3- Charging the battery

To recharge a transmitter :
- Do not remove the electronic key from the transmitter,
- Stop the transmitter by pressing its stop plamswitch button (1),
- Install the transmitter on the support charger (the power supply adapter UCC• must be connected to
the support charger).
During the charging operation, the orange indicator light on the transmitter
comes on steady and the green indicator light shows the charge level :
Green LED flashing : fast charge
Green LED on steady : slow or up-keep charge (battery charging > or =
60%)
Only JAY Electronique support charger URCi-B equipped with a power
supply adapter (UCCU, UCC4 or UCC1) from JAY Electronique are
perfectly suited to charge the URE battery.
(1) = If the transmitter is placed on the charger when powered ON :
The transmitter will be automatically switched OFF. However, when the transmitter is taken back
again, it will indicate an error type "5 blinkings" (stop or start-up error), the stop palmswitch
button must be locked then unlocked.

4.1.4- Display of battery charge states

Two battery charge status display functions are provided on the transmitter :
-
When the remote control is powered up (stop palmswitch button out), its orange LED is on during
2 seconds (phase of transmitter initialization), then this orange LED shows the accumulator
charge level :
Orange indicator light off : ......................... battery charge is > at 50%
Orange indicator light flashes slowly : ....... battery charge is between 50% and 10 %
Orange indicator light flashes quickly : ..... The battery must absolutely be recharged (battery charge
-
During operation of the remote control (radio transmission), a LOW BATT (battery low level,
charge < 10%) indication is given by the orange indicator light which flashes quickly. This indication
is used to inform the operator that the remote control will soon be unavailable (within around 15
minutes).
4.1.5- Electronic key
The electronic key used on the UR radio remote control system has a dual function :
- It enables start-up of the transmitter by limiting access to the remote control to trained and authorized
persons only.
- It contains all the information required for operation of the product, including :
-
the system identity code
-
the last frequency programmed (reprogrammable by a trained operator, see §6.3.)
-
the "dead man" function duration (reprogrammable by a trained operator, see §6.3.)
-
the configuration of the function buttons mounted on the transmitter and the type of button
used (push or rotary type)
-
the button mask (special function)
-
and the option register (IR start-up, micro-speed, etc.)
