3 Applications

The dual CD player CD-230DJ is specially
designed for professional DJ applications. Many
features have precisely been matched to this
range of application, e. g. single title replay, pitch
control, seamless replay of a loop. It will be pos-
sible to replay standard audio CDs, even CDs
you have burnt yourself, and CDs with titles in
MP3 format. However, problems may occur
when replaying rewritable CDs (CD-RW),
depending on the type of CD, the CD burner and
the burning software used.
The player is provided with an anti-shock
.
memory which will be able to compensate tem-
porary interruptions caused by shocks or vibra-
tions during replay; however, it will not be able to
compensate permanent interruptions.
4 Setting up /
Connecting the Unit
The control unit and the player mechanism unit
are designed for installation into a rack for units
with a width of 482 mm (19"), but they can also
be used as tabletop units. The player mecha-
nism unit must always be operated horizontally
whereas the control unit can be installed as
desired, e. g. also inclined. For rack installation,
2 rack spaces each are required for the control
unit and the player mechanism unit (1 RS =
1 rack space = 44.45 mm).
Prior to making or changing any connections,
switch off the CD-230DJ and the units to be con-
nected.
1) Via the two control cables provided, make the
connection between control unit and player
mechanism unit for each player: connect the
jacks for player 1 (23) with the first cable and
the jacks for player 2 (20) with the second
cable.
2) Connect each of the stereo outputs LINE
OUT for player 1 (24) and player 2 (21) via
the RCA cables supplied to the CD player
inputs on the mixer or amplifier.
3) Finally connect the mains cable supplied to
the mains jack (22), then connect the mains
plug to a socket (230 V~ / 50 Hz).
