9 System expansions – Connection of further components
Power units are addressed as follows:
1. Connect PP 45 LT to the RLS master.
2. Activate the power unit with the commission-
ing software or in Service mode [} 49].
3. Push button [T] on power unit once.
ð The communication between the RLS master
and the PP 45 LT is established.
8.9 RLS 45 K: 230 V input
The 230 V input is switched with a switch/button
to be provided by the customer. In order to use
the additional function, the desired additional
function is selected and activated in service
mode. The following additional functions are
available:
• Sleep mode
• intermittent ventilation
• Safety function (External OFF)
• Supply air mode with overrun time of 0 min.
• Supply air mode with overrun time of 6 min.
• Supply air mode with overrun time of 15 min.
8.10 Modbus interface (building con-
trol system)
With the Modbus parameters in service mode, the
RS 485 interface of the RLS 45 O and RLS 45 K
controls can be reconfigured in a Modbus inter-
face → Commissioning software [} 50].
If the RS 485 interface is configured as a
Modbus interface, no further components
(PPB 30 K, sensors, power units, room air con-
trols etc.) can be connected at this interface.
9 System expansions – Connec-
tion of further components
Standard installations are described in the
installation instructions for the PP 45 or PPB
30 final installation kit. These must be read be-
fore you proceed with further connections.
9.1 Safety instructions 230 V connec-
tion
PP 45 RC ventilation units and RLS 45 O / RLS
45 K controls are supplied with 230 V mains
voltage. Note the following safety instructions.
DANGER Danger of electric shock.
Before installing the electrics, shut down all sup-
ply circuits, switch off mains fuse, secure against
being accidentally switched back on and position
a visible warning sign. During operation, the
board cover and front cover of the internal hous-
ing must be mounted.
WARNING Danger of burns/fire due to
overload caused by incorrect connection or
connecting too many units to a RLS 45 O /
RLS 45 K.
Connect units in accordance with connection dia-
gram. Observe permissible number of ventilation
units per room air control/power unit.
WARNING Danger of electric shock if the
12 V low voltage and 230 V are not disconnec-
ted or are insufficiently disconnected.
Ensure a safety distance between 230 V and
12 V cables (SELV). Ensure minimum distance of
8 mm.
WARNING Danger of electric shock if the
connection on the 230 V input of the PP 45
RC, PPB 30 RC units and the RLS 45 O / RLS
45 K controller is incorrect.
Ensure a phase balance between all components
connected to the ventilation system.
WARNING Danger of electric shock if the
RLS 45 O / RLS 45 K room air controls are in-
stalled within the protection zone.
No IP protection present (IP 00). The room air
control may only be installed outside protective
zones 0, 1 or 2.
