2 Safety Notes
The unit corresponds to the directive for electro-
magnetic compatibility 89/336/EEC.
The receiver is suitable for indoor use only. Protect
it against impurities, humidity, and heat (admissible
ambient temperature range -10 °C to +55 °C).
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no means
chemicals or water.
If the unit is used for other purposes than originally
intended, if it is not connected or operated in the
correct way or not repaired in an expert way, no
liability for any damage will be accepted.
If the unit is to be put out of operation definitively,
take it to a local recycling plant for a disposal which
is not harmful to the environment.

3 Applications
In combination with a transmitter or a wireless sur-
veillance camera of the MONACOR "AV-..." series,
the receivers AV-3050RDX and AV-3050R serve for
wireless audio and video transmission. With addition-
al units from the MONACOR range, a wireless video
surveillance system can be built.
The transmission range largely depends on the
local conditions, the transmitter used and the anten-
nas used. In the open, the range can be up to 500 m,
in buildings up to 50 m, depending on the condition of
the walls.
4 Setting into Operation
4.1 Placing the transmitter and the receiver
The highest receiving quality is obtained if the anten-
nas of the transmitter and of the receiver are in paral-
lel. For this purpose, the antenna (2) of model
AV-3050R can be folded out vertically and turned to
optimum reception.
Practical experience has shown that an optimum
reception is achieved when placing the units at a
height of minimum 1.5 to 2 m above the ground. Prior
to final mounting, a trial run is recommended as the
transmission quality can be substantially changed by
displacing the units by a few centimetres only.
4.2 Connecting the units
Prior to connecting any units or to changing existing
connections, switch off the receiver and all other units
of the surveillance system.
4.2.1 Surveillance monitor
1) Connect the video input of the monitor to the jack
"video out" (7) via a 75 Ω coaxial cable.
2) If a sound is transmitted as well, connect the audio
input of the monitor via a screened audio cable to
the jack "audio A out" (8), in case of a stereo sound
connect it additionally to the jack "audio B out" (9).
4.2.2 TV set
Instead of a monitor, it is also possible to connect a
TV set. According to the existing connection jacks on
the TV set an adapter may be required (e. g. VC-162
from MONACOR).
4.2.3 Signal device or other additional units
If the transmitter is provided with a control channel,
an optical or acoustic signal device or another addi-
tional unit connected to the receiver can be activated
via this channel. The connection is shown in fig. 3
where the unit to be connected is symbolized by R1.
If a drive current exceeding 80 mA is required, in-
sert a relay or a switching amplifier. When connecting
an inductive load (e. g. relay), the protective diode D1
must be connected in parallel in reverse direction!
