EtherCAT P | Configuration (general)
GENERAL
Each of the EtherCATP devices contains 7 slots, which can be equipped with corresponding function modules (Fig. 1).
Each module is allocated with process data objects ( PDO ) that can be used to communicate with the process control system
(Fig. 2). The PDOs are subdivided into RxPDOs for specifying control system information and TxPDOs for querying measured
values. They are disclosed via the ESI file to the control system.

Additional information data, measured data or configuration data can be accessed by means of the CAN application protocol
over EtherCAT (CoE). Here, additional service data objects (SDO) are defined in parallel to the process data objects.
These are subdivided into different object areas:
0x2000 Device Data
0x6000 Input Data (typically also available as a PDO)
0x7000 Output Data (typically also available as a PDO)
0x8000 Configuration Data
0x9000 Information Data
0xF000 Module Data
Note:
Objects in the CoE directory are incremented according to the sequence of modules (n) in the format 0xAAnA.
