Operating instructions

5.1. Checking the cutter

The proper condition of the cutter must be checked before each new use. This
especially applies to the cutter blade (pos. 5). In that situation, you must pay attention
to firm mounting and an undamaged blade. Further, the fixed handles (pos. 4) must not
be movable on the upper or lower part of the cutter.

5.2. Handling

The lower part of the cutter must be pushed below the steel strap till it is stopped.
Before the beginning of the cutting operation attention must be paid that neither the
worker himself nor other individuals stand nearby or in the alignment of the strap,
because it will jump open on both sides of the cutter!
Use both hands to take the cutter at the ends of the handles, the upper lever is
pressed downwards.

5.3. Precautions

When opening strapped loads it may happen that the load (or parts of it) slides or drops
down! Therefore, nobody should stay immediately next to the packing item. Further, it
is recommended that – in addition to the precautions specified above - safety gloves
are worn.
