Mounting

GB
The camera can be mounted to a camera support (e. g. support of
the MONACOR TVH series), to a camera stand, or to a pan/tilt
head (e. g. MONACOR VPT-50).
For the fixing, the camera is equipped on its lower side with an
adapter base (13) with threaded jack [thread 6.3 mm (
also be fixed to the upper side of the camera for a suspended
mounting. For this purpose release the three screws at the adapt-
er base (13) and tightly screw the adapter base into the three
threaded holes provided for it on the upper side of the camera. For
outside mounting, the camera must be placed into a weatherproof
protection housing.

Connection

1) Connect the BNC jack "VIDEO OUT" (17) via a 75 Ω cable (e. g.
MONACOR VEC-62/10) to the video input of the following unit
(e. g. monitor, camera switcher, video splitter).
Pay attention to the correct 75 Ω termination at the monitor
or in case of series connection at the last monitor. With a cable
length of more than 100 m a video amplifier should be inserted
between the camera and the cable to compensate cable loss-
es.
2) For the external switching between day operation and night
operation connect the switch or control output of a control unit
to the terminals "D/N IN" and "G" (18). In addition, the external
switching must be selected in the adjusting menu (menu item 8:
"Color"). More details in chapter 8.9.
3) For external evaluation of the motion detection of the camera
connect the evaluating unit (e. g. acoustic signal device, alarm
input of a video recorder, or similar item) to the terminals "M/D
20
OUT" and "G" (18). The type of the output signal can be deter-
mined in the adjusting menu. More details in chapter 8.8.
4) For power supply connect a power supply unit with 12 V DC
voltage, e. g. MONACOR PS-362ST, to the spring-loaded ter-
minals (15). The power supply unit should be capable of sup-

")]. It can
plying a permanent current of 330 mA, but peak currents of
4
500 mA while switching on and switching from day operation to
night operation. The polarity is of no importance when connect-
ing it. Via the screw terminal "F.G" the power supply can
additionally be connected to the camera ground.
As an alternative it is also possible to operate the camera
with an AC voltage of 24 V/50 Hz at 165 mA (300 mA). In this
case the camera picture can be synchronized with the mains
frequency. More details in chapter 8.10.

Setting into Operation

1) After connection to the power supply the camera is ready for
operation. The power indication "PWR" (7) lights up.
2) After switching on the monitor, adjust the camera to the surveil-
lance area.
3) Adjust the distance at the lens. With a lens with manually ad-
justable iris, adjust the iris to optimum picture reproduction
(depth of focus and brightness).
4) If the picture is not sharp with correctly adjusted distance, cor-
rect the mechanical focus setting for the lens. For this purpose
release the hexagon socket screw (4) with the supplied hexa-
gon key. By slightly turning the threaded ring (3) adjust a clear
picture. Then retighten the screw.
