8.9 Menu item 8: "Color"

(Adjustments of the operating modes colour and
B/W)
Via this menu item adjustments for the day operation and night ope-
ration (colour or B/W) of the camera can be made. With the menu
item selected, it is possible to choose between the following options:
"ON"
The camera only operates in colour.
"B/W"
The camera only operates in B/W.
"AUTO "
When falling below an adjustable brightness, the camera auto-
matically switches from colour operation to B/W operation
(night) and back to colour operation (day) if this brightness
threshold is exceeded again. If this option has been selected,
by pressing the key "SET" (12) it is possible to change to the fol-
lowing submenu for further adjustments:

B/W Point", the light threshold is
(10). If a value falls below the
tion will result. Values from 1 to 5 can be selected , "1" corre-
sponds to a luminous intensity of approx. 1 lx (lux), "3" to
approx. 3...4 lx and "5" to approx. 7...8 lx if "Middle" has been
adjusted for the automatic video signal control "Gain Limit"
(compare 8.6 menu item 5: "Gain").
With the value "Color
adjusted for which a value must fall below the light threshold
value so that switching from colour operation to B/W operation
will result. This delay time prevents that the camera will imme-
diately switch over in case of temporary shading. Values from
1 s to 10 s can be adjusted. The higher the value, the further to
the right the "I" will be placed in the bar graph below.
With the value "B/W
adjusted for which a value must exceed the light threshold
value so that switching from B/W operation back to colour
operation will result. This delay time prevents that the camera
will immediately switch over in case of temporary brightening
(e. g. by the illumination of a car passing by). Values from 2 s to
20 s can be adjusted. The higher the value, the further to the
right the "I" will be placed in the bar graph below.
In the line "Burst" it is possible to select if the colour syn-
chronization signal (Burst) in the video signal is to be contained
also in B/W operation ("ON") or not ("OFF"). A B/W video sig-
nal without burst prevents interfering coloured noise in the B/W
picture. However, some (LCD) monitors generally require the
colour synchronization signal for picture synchronization.
Press the key "SET" (12) to return to the main menu.
Note: The option "AUTO " is only available if the video signal
control "Gain" has been activated (= "AGC "). To change the
adjustment "Gain" from "OFF" to "AGC " automatically results
in the change of the adjustment for "Color" to "AUTO " unless
the external switching "EXT. " has been selected.
