If your telephone doesn't work...
General information
Make sure that the telephone cable isn't damaged and is correctly inserted. Disconnect any
additional equipment, extension cables and other telephones. If the telephone works then,
this indicates that the fault is caused by another piece of equipment. Try to connect your
telephone to a neighbor's line, for example. If it works there, this indicates that there may be
a fault on your telephone line. Call the service provider to report the fault.
No number appears when the phone rings
• Calling number display is a function that has to be supported by your service provider.
• If no calling number appears in the display, this means that no calling number informa-
tion is available or that the caller has an unlisted number. This can also happen when a
call is received from a telephone exchange.
• If the telephone is connected to an extension, the calling number display function will
not usually work.
The telephone doesn't work
• Make sure that the mains adapter is correctly inserted into the telephone and into the
mains socket.
• Make sure that the telephone cable is correctly inserted into the telephone and into the
telephone socket.
• Connect another telephone to your telephone line. If it works, it indicates that your tele-
phone is probably faulty.
• Only use the original cable or a telephone cable with an international configuration.
