5.2- Application conditions
This log splitter is a home use model.
It is designed for operating under ambient temperatures between +5°C and +40°C and for installation at
altitudes no more than 1000m above M.S.L.
The surrounding humidity should less than 50% at 40°C.
It can be stored or transported under ambient temperatures between -20°C and 55°C max humidity 80%.
The log splitter is intended for stationary use!
The log splitter must
be used horizontally
and never vertically
ATTENTION! National or local regulations regarding noise may restrict the use of the machine to
certain hours or periods. Check with your local authority.
It is recommended to restrict working hours to a minimum and always take rest periods.
For proper use, after each work period take a rest period (for ex. take a rest for 10 minutes after a work
period of 60 minutes).
5.3- Before operating the log splitter
Check the oil level and refill as required before use.
1. Familiarize yourself with the controls and features of the log splitter (refer to the illustrations).
2. The Bleed Screw (Oil dipstick cap) should be loosened by 3-4 rotations until air can go in and out
of the oil tank smoothly. Air flow through the Bleed Screw hole should be detectable during the log
splitter is under operations.
Failure to loosen the bleed screw will keep the sealed air in the hydraulic system.
The air being compressed and then decompressed, such continuous air compression
and decompression will blow out the seals of the hydraulic system and cause
permanent damage to the log splitter.
3. Before moving the log splitter, make sure the bleed screw is tightened to avoid oil leaking from this
point.
4. Plan your work site.
Work safely and save effort by planning your work beforehand.
Have your logs ready to split positioned tidily where they can be easily reached.
Have a site located to stack the split wood or load it onto a nearby vehicle, wheelbarrow or another
carrier.
5. Prepare the logs for splitting.
The log splitter can accommodate logs up to 52cm in length and with diameter (See Table1).
6. Apply a thin coat of grease to the surfaces of the cutting wedge before operation will lengthen the
durability of the wedge.
7. Route the power cord.
Route the cord from the power source to the splitter in a way that safeguards against tripping on the
cord, or the cord becoming damaged during the work session.
Protect the power cord from impacts, pulling or corrosive materials.
8. Open the Air Bleed.
Loosen the oil tank cover a few turns whenever the splitter is being used.
Retighten this cover when you finished.
9. While operating under extremely low temperature (e.g. below 5°C), let the log splitter run under no
load for 5-10 minutes to preheat the hydraulic oil.
10. Reminder:
- The log splitter is strictly designed for one-man operation. Never allow more than one person to
