longer cooking period. When baking/cooking at higher tem-
peratures for longer periods, ensure that the baking oven is
hot enough and evenly heated by heating the fireplace the
previous day as well.
Cleaning the baking oven
The baking oven should be cleaned regularly by wiping it with
a damp cloth. Use a scouring pad if necessary. Check that the
tiles have cooled before cleaning. Be careful, as the tiles are
burning hot even the next day after heating the fireplace.
The tiles can be washed in a dishwasher. If a tile does not
come clean in the dishwasher, use a scouring pad. Carefully
remove the tiles (images 3-6). First pull the upright tile on
the right towards you until the rear top tile starts to come
loose. Support the top tile and remove it first. Then, pull the
tile on the right towards you some more while supporting
the front top tile. Remove the top tile, after which you can
also remove the right-hand tile. Next, remove the tile on
the left. Remember to support the tile on the rear wall so it
doesn't tip over. Then, remove the bottom tiles and finally
the tile at the back.
After washing and drying the tiles, put them back in the op-
posite sequence. Start from the tiles on the rear wall and
the bottom, and then put the side tiles and top tiles back in

to make sure they do not fall over and break.
