Replace the spark plugs if the electrodes are
burnt or if the porcelain is broken or damaged.

PROBABLE CAUSE
No fuel
Old fuel or deposits in the fuel tank
Incorrect starting procedure
Spark plugs disconnected
Wet spark plugs or dirty spark
plug electrodes or wrong gap
Clogged air filter
Incorrect oil for the season
Fuel evaporation in the
carburettor (vapour lock)
due to elevated temperatures
Carburation fault
Ignition problems
Dirty spark plug electrodes
or incorrect gap
Spark plug caps mounted incorrectly
Clogged air filter
Carburation fault
Ignition problems
Clogged air filter
Carburation fault
Fire hazard! Do not check the ignition
system when the spark plug is not in place.
IMPORTANT Only use the required type
of spark plugs (see Technical data table).
Check and top up (chap. 5.1.3)
Empty the fuel tank and add fresh fuel
Perform start-up correctly
(para 5.2 and para 5.3)
Make sure that the caps are
fitted snugly (para 5.1.4)
Check (para. 6.6)
Check and clean (par. 6.5)
Replace with suitable oil (par. 6.3)
Wait a few minutes then try
starting it up again (par. 5.3)
