During the installation of the DT 700c / DT 710c, carefully observe the notes for fixing the
terminal. These instructions and all maintenance instructions must be handed to the operator
by the installer.
Generally, the operating device should be installed at a height between 900 mm and
1100 mm above the surface of the finished floor, with the door closed.
If it is known that the majority of the users of the building are small children, a reduction of the
height of the operating device should be considered.
When installing panic exit devices with lever handle activation (DT 700c / DT 710c), in
particular on doors with stepped surfaces, any possible safety risk, e.g. trapping of fingers or
entanglement of clothes, should be avoided as far as possible.
The locking elements and locking counterpieces (striking plates) have to be installed in such
a way to make it safe to reach into the installation. It must be ensured that the projection of the
locking elements in retracted position does not hinder the free movement of the door.
No other devices except for the DT 700c / DT 710c intended for this purpose may be installed
to hold the door in the closed position. This does not exclude the installation of door closers.
If a door closer is installed to move the door to the closed position again, make sure that the
operation of the door by children and elderly as well as frail people is not impeded.
The provided locking counterpieces (striking plates) or panelling must be installed in order to
ensure compliance with EN 179.
A sticker with the inscription "Operate lever handle to open" or a pictogram should be placed
on the inside of the door immediately above the operating device or on the operating device
itself (see sample below).
With panic exit devices type "B" (DT 700c) intended for use on emergency exit doors opening
inwards, a sticker with the inscription "Pull lever handle to open" or a pictogram should be
placed on the inside of the door immediately above the pull plate. The surface of the pictogram
should be at least 8,000 mm² and the colours white on a green background.
