14.5. DCF memory standard

The recordings on your camera are managed (saved, named,
etc.) in accordance with the DCF standard (DCF = Design rule for
Camera File system). Recordings on memory cards from other
DCF cameras can also be played back on your camera.

14.6. Card drive

If your PC has a card drive or is connected to a card reader, you
can use this to copy the shots on the memory card to the PC.
The card reader is also detected as a removable data medium on
the Windows desktop (or in "Computer" if using Vista/Windows
7/Windows 8 and Windows 8.1).

14.7. Memory folder structure

Your camera automatically creates specific folders on the inter-
nal memory card in order to organise captured images and vid-
eo files.
File names begin with "DSCI" followed by a 4-digit number in
ascending order. The file numbering starts from 0001 when a
new folder is created.
The highest file number is 9999. After it reaches 9999, the
camera will begin again with the file number 0001.
