The alarm function can only be activated or deactivated in
passive display mode (HOLD). The selected alarm thresh-
old settings remain stored in the device – even when the
power is off – until a new setting has been selected.
How to activate or deactivate the alarm function
for the upper alarm threshold value:
Press the key "Functions"

function can be activated by pressing the select key "Up"
or deactivated by pressing the select key "Down"
The "Status Indicator Upper Alarm Threshold Value"
appears permanently on the display when the alarm
function for the upper alarm threshold value has been ac-
tivated.

Press the key "Functions" (mode)
short intervals in passive mode (Hold) until the alarm
symbol for the upper alarm threshold value starts to blink.
The preset alarm value which can then be seen on the cen-
tral measurement display can either be increased or re-
duced by pressing the select key "Up"
respectively.

10.2.4 Selecting the temperature unit
of measurement
The infrared thermometer is capable of measuring and dis-
playing all temperature measurements in either °C (Cel-
sius) or °F (Fahrenheit). All preset values and stored meas-
urement values are automatically converted into the other
scale when the new unit of measurement is selected.
The unit of measurement can only be changed in
passive mode (Hold). The selected unit of
measurement settings remains stored in the device –

If one of the additional measurement functions MIN, MAX,
DIF or AVG has been preset in order to show the upper
functional value on the display (see chapter 10.2.5), then
the change from one unit of measurement to another can
be effected by pressing the selection key "Up"
"Down" directly.

10.2.5 Additional measurement functions

(MAX, MIN, AVG, DIF)

The infrared thermometer does not only measure and cal-
culate the current measurement value during each meas-
urement process, it also determines the maximum meas-
urement value (MAX), the minimum value (MIN), the
average value (AVG) of all the measurements during the
measuring process in progress as well as the difference
(DIF) between the highest and lowest temperature value.
