The USB function can be activated in both active
display (SCAN) as well as passive display mode
(HOLD). In order to do so, keep the "Enter" key
pressed until the USB function symbol starts to blink on the
display. The USB function is now active.
To deactivate the USB function, keep the "Enter" key
firmly pressed until the USB function symbol disappears.
There is no need to activate the USB function if
the USB connection is only intended as a means
of providing power. The measuring device can be
connected to the PC at any time without first having to
activate the USB. The USB function is only required for
software-supported measurement recording!
Software-supported measurement recording:
It is possible to perform, record and store long-term meas-
urements when the USB function is activated or when a
USB connection has been established to a PC on which the
necessary recording software has previously been in-
stalled.
Typical fields of application for such long-term measure-
ments are temperature variations in mechanical or climatic
processes.
The IR temperature values as well as the temperature
values from the external type K sensor -provided it is con-
nected to the measuring device - are transferred in freely-
defined intervals to the recording software which then
documents and logs them. The documented series of
measurements can be stored as individual files, and be-
cause the software is compatible with conventional
spreadsheet programs it can then be imported for further
use.
A suitable PC program, like the one in the enclosed soft-
ware, is required for the software-supported recording of
measurement series.
The program has to be installed and called up before
measuring takes place for it to be recognised by the soft-
ware. In order to install, place the CD-ROM in the PC drive
and follow the installation instructions.
The software included in the scope of delivery is
an added bonus and does not include any support
or guarantee. The program interface is only available in
English. It is easy to understand and can be used
intuitively. For more information, see Application.
13. Cleaning and maintenance
firmly
Blow at IR lens to remove dirt or dust particles. Brush off
any remaining particles with a fine lens brush. Clean the
surface of the device with a damp cloth. Only use water to
moisten the cloth. Do not use any chemicals or cleaning
agents.
