Safety instructions
Please read through the following instructions carefully and keep them in a safe place.
½ Check the coffeemaker for damage after
unpacking. In the unlikely event that it is
damaged, do not use it and contact the repair
service.
½ Keep the packing material for transport and
possible return consignments. Store well
away from children.
½ Before using the appliance, ensure that the
mains voltage is the same as that on the
nameplate on the bottom of the coffeemaker.
The appliance is only to be connected to a
properly earthed socket with a minimum
10A rating.
½ The electrical safety of this appliance is only
ensured when it is properly earthed in
conformity with the standards in force and/or
electrical safety code. The manufacturer is
not liable for any damage arising from the
appliance being earthed in a manner not in
accordance with regulations. If you are not
sure about earthing, please contact a
specialist.
½ If the power socket is not compatible with
the plug of your appliance, please have the
socket replaced.
½ Damage can be avoided by never using the
appliance without coffee or water. The
appliance is only suitable for the making of
coffee and coffee specialities as well as for
heating water. Inappropriate or inadmissible
use of the coffeemaker could result in injury
or the user being scalded by hot water or
steam.
½ The manufacturer is not liable for damage
due to incorrect or inappropriate handling.
½ On no account is the appliance to be dipped
in water or touched with wet/damp hands
or feet. Do not use in damp or humid rooms
(e.g. shower rooms).
21
½ Children and those who have not been
instructed in the use of the coffeemaker are
only to use the appliance under supervision.
½ Avoid contact with the hot parts of the
appliance, such as the milk frother (15), coffee
outlet (13) or heated cup tray (5).
½ Do not put your hands under the coffee
outlet when coffee is being dispensed. Above
all, make sure when removing the coffee
grounds container (12) that no coffee is being
brewed.
½ Pull out the plug before servicing the
appliance or cleaning the outside surface.
½ All transparent parts (bean container and
water reservoir) are not suitable for dish-
washer cleaning. Dishwasher cleaning of the
drip tray, coffee ground container and lower
base of the milk frother could result in them
becoming slightly discoloured.
½ Shut down the appliance immediately in
the case of defects or malfunctioning and
undertake no repairs yourself. Contact only
the service hotline in the case of repair
questions.
½ Never replace the appliance's power-supply
cord yourself; special tools are needed for
this.
½ Shut down the appliance and pull out the
plug if you are away for some time.
½ Do not transport the appliance in cold
vehicles or keep it in cold rooms. Residual
moisture could freeze and damage the
coffeemaker.
Non-adherence to the above instructions
can impair the safety of your appliance.

Installation
Place the appliance on a stable, dry surface.
Keep it away from hot surfaces.
There should be a space of some 10 cm
between the appliance and the wall or
other objects.
Only unroll that length of power-supply
cord that you need. You can store the rest
in the compartment of the machine
housing.
The Easy Cappuccino milk frother is
packed and delivered in a non-assembled
state to prevent damage. Please assemble
as follows:
6
Preparation
Take the water reservoir (8) out of the appliance
and add fresh water (max. 1.5 litres), either
through the opening or by taking off the lid.
Press the water reservoir firmly back into
position to open the rear valve. Pour in fresh
water every day.
7
Switching on/shutting down
By pressing the on/off key (26), the brew
compartment is set to operation and the
appliance begins to heat up. The appliance
carries out an automatic rinsing cycle when
put into operation. No rinsing occurs when
switching on if the appliance has been out of
operation for under 60 minutes. The tempe-
rature display (20) flashes during the entire
operation. The appliance is ready for operation
when the temperature display lights up.
It can happen that air is trapped between the
pump and the water reservoir. In this case, no
water comes out during rinsing, even though
the pump is trying to draw water.
½ Fig. A Pull the knob for steam/hot water
supply (17) completely out of the appliance,
as the Easy Cappuccino cannot be mounted
otherwise.
½ Fig. B Twist off the lower part of the Easy
Cappuccino (the steam pipe with whisk (14)).
½ Fig. C Push the Easy Cappuccino from below
onto the guide rod.
½ Push the hose coupling element up to the
stop into the hole on the left next to the
service door (7). When assembled the hose
must face upwards.
½ Screw the steam pipe with whisk back onto
the Easy Cappuccino.
½ Push the knob for steam/hot water (17)
completely back into the coffeemaker.
Make sure the seal of the Easy Cappuccino
always sits firmly.
We recommend immediately setting the water
hardness to that of your local area. Please
proceed as described under section 11.1.
For hygienic reasons, we would advise pouring
away the first cup of coffee after starting
operation.
The coffee-maker must be vented. Place a
receptacle under the milk frother (15) and
open the knob for steam/hot water (17) until
water comes out. Then close the valve. Venting
of the appliance is now complete.
To shut down the appliance, press the on/off
key (26). Automatic rinsing occurs before the
appliance shuts itself down automatically. No
rinsing occurs if no coffee is supplied between
switching on and shutting down.
The appliance automatically shuts down 5
hours, at the latest, after the last action. The
timer can be set to a different time. Please
refer to section 11.2.
