2.3) The anchor device may only be used with personal fall protection
equipment, not for lifting gear. The anchor point should be perpendic-
ular above the user. If the anchor point is lower, there may be a risk
of crashing into lower-lying structures in the event of a fall!
If the anchor point is on one side of the user, there is a risk of im-
pact on structures positioned on the side. To prevent a swinging
fall, any sideways movement towards the centre axis should
be limited to a maximum of approx. 45°. If this is not possible or if
larger displacements are required, no individual anchor points
should be used. Instead, a system according to EN 795 Category
D (track) or C (rope) should be used, for example.
The height of the anchor point and the required ground clearance
must be appropriate in any case to ensure the effectiveness of the
system (see fig 2.3):
Braking distance of the energy absorber Δl
+ Output length of the lanyard I (fig. 2.1, 2.4)
+ Body size x
+ Safety distance, approx. 1m
+ if necessary, elongation of the anchor device (e.g. EN 795 B/C,
observe the manufacturer's instructions for use)
3.) Fitting the harness
3.1) Check the body harness for damage prior to every use.
For fittings (attachment points and adjustable buckles),
seams and straps, check to ensure completeness or whether there
is wear and tear. If there are any doubts about the safety condition,
revoke its use immediately.
3.2) Overview of possible locking mechanisms (buckles)
The locks and/or the adjustment elements must be checked
regularly during use.
3.3) Fit body harness according to type
Jacket design:
A: Put on the body harness like a jacket; B: Thread the buckle
through the (fall-arrest) attachment point) at chest height; C: Lock
the buckle with the counter-piece; D: If present, close the buckle
at the pelvis height as shown in the image; E: Close both leg straps
