• N ever charge the battery right after use. Always leave the rechargeable batteries to cool off first (at least
5 - 10 minutes).
• Remove the drive batteries from the model for recharging. Disconnect the drive batteries from the speed
controller completely before charging it.
• Never place the charger and rechargeable battery on a heat-resistant, inflammable surface.
• Charger and rechargeable batteries heat up when charging. Leave enough distance between the charg-
er and the rechargeable battery, never place a rechargeable battery on the charger. Never cover the
charger and the battery. Do not expose the charger and rechargeable battery to any high/low tempera-
tures or to direct solar radiation.
• Never leave batteries unattended while charging them.
• Regularly recharge the rechargeable batteries (about every 2 - 3 months). Otherwise, self-discharge of
the batteries may cause deep discharge. This renders the rechargeable batteries useless!
NiMH batteries (except for specific builds with low self-discharge) lose their energy even within a few
weeks.
LiPo batteries usually retain their energy for several months; however, they are damaged permanently
by deep discharge and cannot be used anymore.
• If LiPo rechargeable batteries are stored for an extended period (e.g. if you do not operate the vehicle
through the winter months), the LiPo rechargeable batteries should not be fully charged, but only to
approx. 50 - 75% of their maximum capacity. For this, mainly observe the information of the battery or
charger manufacturer.
• Never use a too-high charging current. Observe the manufacturer information on ideal or maximum
charging currents.
• Remove the battery from the charger when it is fully charged.
• Charges and rechargeable batteries must not get damp or wet. There is a danger to life from electric
shock; there also is a danger of fire and explosion from the rechargeable battery!
Rechargeable batteries with lithium technology (e.g. LiPo batteries) in particular are very susceptible to
moisture due to the chemicals they contain!
• T his vehicle is exclusively suitable for use with two LiPo drive batteries with 2 cells (nominal voltage
7.4 V) or two LiPo drive batteries with 3 cells (nominal voltage 11.1 V).
When using a drive battery with more cells, there is a danger of fire from overheating of the speed
controller. Apart from this, the vehicle's drive will be overloaded and damaged by this (e.g. differential).
Loss of guarantee/warranty!
The two drive batteries must have the same build (same battery type, same capacity, same discharge
rate, same manufacturer, same type). Never insert different drive batteries together. There is a danger
of fire!
Both drive batteries also must have the same state of charge. Never connect, e.g., a fully charged and
a partially discharged LiPo drive battery to the speed controller. This will cause deep discharge and
permanently damage the rechargeable battery.
