MAINTENANCE OF MACHINES

T IS IMPERATIVE THAT THE ELECTRICAL SUPPLY IS SHUT OFF DURING THE SERVICE
ON THE MACHINE
The importance of the daily cleaning is often ignored. A careless cleaning can have
disastrous consequences on the maintenance as well as the quality and taste of the
coffee in the cup.
DAILY MAINTENANCE
- Remove filter holders and clean with a brush.
- Clean the hot water outlet with a scouring pad.
- Clean the steam outlet with a scouring pad; in order to keep the nozzle unblocked, use
a needle or pin and open the steam tap a few seconds to flush it clean.
- Clean the drain grating and basin (basin could not be removed)
WEEKLY MAINTENANCE
- Clean the sprinkler with the dummy filter (for each group): insert the dummy filter in
a filter holder, lock it into position and press the 2 LARGE CUPS. Wait a few seconds,
then press the button again; rinse the dummy filter and repeat this action 3 times for
each group.
- Wash the filter holders in water in order to unblock the holes (never use a pin or a
flame to unblock them).

ELECTRONIC PRESSURE SWITCH

THE PRESSURE SWITCH HAS BEEN ADJUSTED IN THE
FACTORY, ANY INTERVENTION MUST BE CARRIED OUT IN
THE FACTORY. ESSIKA DECLINES ANY RESPONSIBILITY IN
CASE OF NON-RESPECT.
PRESSURE ADJUSTED BETWEEN 0.9 AND 1.2 BARS
RECOMMENDATION
Before servicing the machine:
- Switch the machine OFF and remove the plug.
- Shut off the main water supply (with the cut off tap)
- To await that the pressure gauge indicates zero to be on there is no pressure and
from risks of burns.
Remark: any other means of cancelling the pressure in the boiler must be carried out by
an approved technician.

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

It is significant not to neglect the maintenance of your machine. The intensive use of
your machine can influence the frequency of the maintenance actions.
We suggest to respect the following explanations in order to replace seals and gaskets
of your machine (non-return valves, limitings device of pressure, group gaskets...etc)
and to carry out frequently a complete cleaning of the coffee groups head (sprinklers,
diffusors, solenoid valves).
The replacement of seals or gaskets must be done by a Conti dealer.
