► Clean and loosen screws (19) in fig. A
To loosen the screws, always use the T-wrench from
the tool kit and never an angled Allen key.
On normal and hard subfloors the bevel of the blade
should show upwards fig.D (1), on soft subfloors (e.g.
chipboards) the bevel should show downwards (2).
► Insert the knife between the oscillator and deflector
according to the substrate.
► When inserting the new knife, make sure that the knife
rests firmly against the supporting edge.
► Tighten screws (19).
3.6 Locking the swivel joint fig. A
For narrow knives it is recommended to fix the swivel joint
with the locking pin (21). This prevents the striking mecha-
nism from rocking up.
3.7 Adjusting the knife angle
The knife angle (Fig. A) can be infinitely adjusted.
It is recommended to wear protective gloves to adjust the
knife angle.
► Steep the handle and tilt the machine backwards.
► Loosen the screws (28).
► Move the oscillator to the desired position.
angular position
► Retighten screws (28) firmly.
► The optimum knife angle depends on the type of floor
covering, the adhesive and of the underbody.
Due to the multitude of conditions, no general state-
ments can be made. As a general rule, if the knife
jumps over the surface to be removed, a steeper angle
should be selected.
In the case of soft subfloors such as chipboard or
wood, the knife angle should be flat so as not to
damage the subfloor.

4.0 Use
4.1 Preparations fig. E
The BITURBO-STRIPPER removes any bonded
floor coverings in stripes.
► Before starting work, cut the floor covering into
stripes of about 35 cm (12 inch).
You cannot work faster if you cut wider stripes.
► To begin, cut one stripe crosswise. Then lift the floor
slightly in order to get the blade underneath it.
► We recommend to cut the first strip at right angles to
the main working direction. By so doing access to the
adjacent strips is made easier.
Cut the strips smaller if the floor covering is bon-
ded very ecurely, e.g. with an epoxy adhesive.
► The blades are sharpened by the floor pavement.
Therefore the blade only has to be changed if it is
twisted, collateral rounded or becomes worn.
► The drive wheels are subject to considerable wear,
especially during heavy work. When the rubber ban-
dages have worn out by approx. 16 mm, they should
be replaced at the factory. Otherwise the working angle
will change too much.
With Korkment or foam backs, for example, optimum
working is no longer possible. The wheel diameter in
new condition is 250 mm.
4.2 Start up
► Consider the mains power. The voltage of the
power supply has to be conform with the specifica-
tions of the type plate. Power tools marked 230 V
can also be operated on 220 V.
Check the machine before use:
► The knife must be mounted correctly and be able to
move freely.
► Make a test run of min. 1 minute.
► Do not use damaged blades.
► Damaged blades can burst and injure.
