GENERAL INSTALLATION CONDITIONS
All items must be cleaned and free of debris before installation. This applies in particular to the areas
between mounting surfaces.
Prevent the climbing protection system from coming into contact with aggressive chemicals, as well
as mortar, cement or similar materials.
Mortar residues or other debris must be removed immediately.
The treads must be kept free of grease and oil.
In particular, the inside and outside of the climbing protection rail running surfaces for the fall arrest
shuttle must be cleaned.
Damaged components must be replaced with new parts from our factory.
The tread distance within a ladder may not be changed.
Standard distance is 280 +/-5mm
Changing distances between treads results in a risk of falls!
Installation of the ladder and any accessories on stationary structures is carried out from the bottom
up.
Installation of the climbing protection rail on existing ladders is carried out from the top down.
Only original SKYLOTEC components may be installed and used in the installation.
The combination of components or elements from other manufacturers or suppliers may cause fatal
accidents!
The components must be handled with care and must not be thrown!
All accessories (rail reinforcement, rest platform, etc.) are components of the climbing protection
system; the system is tested and approved as a unit.
The climbing protection system does not have any parts that are susceptible to rust. It can be used in
maritime environments and in high humidity.
Repairs are only permitted after consultation with SKYLOTEC GmbH! SKYLOTEC GmbH assumes
no liability in any case in which they were not consulted beforehand.

TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
The following tightening torques must be observed when fastening the ladder components in order to
properly secure all of the threaded connections:

All fasteners have a minimum grade of 8.8 and are manufactured of hot-dip galvanised steel or stainless
steel class 70. The hot-dip galvanised fittings are to be fitted dry
Stainless steel threads must be treated with an assembly paste/copper paste to prevent them from seizing.
The fittings are secured against loosening by self-locking nuts in accordance with DIN 985 with non-
metallic clamping inserts.
Safety Information
Incorrectly fastened fittings can become loose and compromise the safety of the system!
