Scope of delivery and accessories:
Before installing the device, check that the scope of delivery and the ordered accessories:
 1x Flow sensor VVX.
 1x Operating manual.
 2x O-ring (optional 2x Flat gasket).
Accessories:
 Connection cable with moulded M12x1 coupling
socket.
 Ribbon cable with RAST 2.5 connectors.
 M12x1 coupling socket or RAST 2.5 connectors as
component.

1.1 Intended use

The Vortex flow sensor VVX must only be used for measuring and metering water and aque-
ous solutions.
WARNING! No safety component!
The Vortex flow sensors of the series VVX are not safety components in accordance with
Directive 2006-42-EC (Machine Directive).
 Never use the VVX as a safety component.
The operational safety of the device supplied is only guaranteed by intended use. The speci-
fied limits ( § 9 "Technical data") may under no circumstances be exceeded.
CAUTION! Material damage under mechanical load or in case of overload!
Mechanical loads, exceeding the measuring range or pressure surges can lead to dam-
age to the VVX sensor.
 The sensor in the measuring tube may not be subjected to mechanical loads.
 Always use the VVX unit within the rated measuring range.
 Avoid pressure surges during commissioning or normal operation.
Before installing the device, check that the wetted device's materials are suitable for the me-
dium intended for use ( § 9.2 "Materials table").

1.2 Exclusion of liability

We accept no liability for any damage or malfunctions resulting from incorrect installation,
in-appropriate use of the device or failure to follow the instructions in this operating manual.
