1 Device description
The Vortex flow sensor of the series VVX from SIKA is a vortex flow measurement device
without any moving parts.
The VVX is available in various versions. It is intended to be used for measuring or metering
water and aqueous solutions.
Components:

Electronics housing with cover:
The electronics housing contains the signal
conditioning circuitry of the VVX. The circuitry is
encapsulated in the housing to protect it
against moisture and mechanical stress.
The electrical connector is mounted on the cov-
er of the electronics housing.

Electrical connection:
The electrical connection is provided by an
M12x1 5-pin plug or a RAST 2.5 pin header.

Type plate (laser marking)
The type plate shows the key technical data and
the connector pin assignments of the VVX.

Process connection:
The process connections are available in sizes
G¾A and G1¼A for O-rings (optional G½A and
G1A for flat gaskets).

Spanner flats (22/34 mm a/f):
The spanner flats are used for bracing during
installation.

Measuring tube:
The vortex bluff body and the sensor of the
electronics are located inside the measuring tube.

The VVX is made entirely from plastic with protection rating IP65/IP20. The electronic hous-
ing, process connection, spanner flats and measuring tube (including the bluff body) are cast
as a unit.

Versions :
The VVX is available in nominal size DN15 with G¾ male thread (optional G½A) and DN25
with G1¼ male thread (optional G1A). It is also available in various configurations. Further

It has low pressure drop
on the outside of the measuring tube indicate the flow direction for
and excellent measuring characteristics.
