e) Oiling the Air Filter
The air filter comprising of a foam ring (A) at the carbu-
rettor of the vehicle must be oiled with suitable air filter oil
before commissioning of the vehicle.
The foam ring can be removed by turning out the screw
(B) and removing the holding lid.
The oil in the air filter ensures that finest dust particles
stick to the oil and do not get into the motor.
These fine dust particles increase wear at the pistons
and cylinder wall and reduce output. At continuous motor
operation without oiled air filter, permanent motor damage
may occur; loss of warranty/guarantee!
Check the air filter for correct oiling before every run. Oil it with a special air filter oil (not included in the delivery,
available as an accessory) only. Never drive without an oiled air filter!
For oiling, push the air filter (only the foam ring) into a small plastic bag and add a few drops of air filter oil. Close the
plastic bag and compress the air filter several times so that the air filter oil moistens the entire air filter.
Wash the air filter from time to time (depending on dust load when driving after each drive if necessary) with benzene
or replace it with a new one.
f) Taking the Transmitter and Receiver System into Operation
Open the transmitter's battery/rechargeable battery compartment and insert new batteries or fully charged recharge-
able batteries. Observe correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-), see label on the battery/rechargeable battery compart-
ment. Close the battery/rechargeable battery compartment of the transmitter again.
Switch on the transmitter. Check the function of the transmitter.
Observe the enclosed operating instructions for the remote control system.
Switch on the receiver system of the vehicle. The switch is at the rear end of the receiver box.
g) Checking the Transmitter's Range
In order not to lose control over your model you should, before every first start or after a crash, check the function and
range of the RC system. For the range test, it is sufficient to check the steering servo function.
Due to the good traction of the wheels and the weight of the vehicle, the wheels would not follow your steering com-
mands spontaneously and directly while still on the floor. Therefore, support the model at the front axle in a way that
allows the wheels to hang freely.
Only perform the range test without the engine running!
