e) Inserting battery packs into the vehicle
To prevent a sudden movement of the drive and an uncontrolled movement of the model (e.g. if the trim
for the drive is wrongly adjusted), place the vehicle on a suitable support such as a starter box, so that
the wheels can turn freely. The wheels must not touch the ground!
Never touch the drive mechanism. Risk of injury!
Two special battery holders are provided for the battery packs. Remove the covers secured with clips to insert the
battery packs.
Close the battery holders again. Make sure that the battery cables do not get squeezed or damaged otherwise.
f) Connecting the battery packs to the speed controller
Before connecting the battery packs to the speed controller, switch on the remote control (transmitter) (see chapter 8.
c) and 8. d).
The on/off switch is on the side of the speed controller, see
figure 2.
Put the on/off switch in the "OFF" position.
Now connect the two battery packs to the speed controller.
If you want to assemble the battery packs yourself, observe
the right polarity (red wire = positive, black wire = negative).
The two battery packs are connected in parallel so that the
capacity is doubled, see figure 3.
First connect the black earth wires of the two battery packs
to the respective connections of the speed controller. Then
connect the two red positive wires.
Never mix up the battery connections! Make sure that the plugs/sockets do not cause a short circuit by
mistake! There is a risk of fire and explosion!
Only connect fully charged battery packs to the speed controller. The speed controller features LiPo
undervoltage detection with an automatic switch-off function. The voltage is measured immediately
after the speed controller has been switched on. When the battery packs are only partially charged, the
number of cells might not be recognised properly, which results in a total discharge of the battery packs!
