inspected at regular intervals.
• Do not charge the battery while the engine is running. Be aware that certain
engine components (e.g. the cooling fan) may start up automatically.
• Make sure that no cables, terminals or items of clothing are allowed in the
vicinity of moving or hot vehicle parts.
• Ensure that all the power consumers on the vehicle, e.g. ignition, lights etc., are
switched off.
• Avoid the following adverse ambient conditions at the set-up location during
operation, transportation or storage: wet, extreme cold (< -15°C) or heat (>
45°C), direct sunlight or close proximity to sources of hot air (such as heaters
etc.), dust or flammable gases, vapours or solvents, heavy vibrations, strong
magnetic fields (e.g. in the vicinity of machines, motors or speakers).
• Do not use the device in closed facilities with lead-acid batteries. These
batteries vent explosive hydrogen gas which can be ignited by sparks on the
electrical connections.
• Never charge batteries under covered vehicles as any build-up of petrol fumes
or leaked hydrogen gases may ignite.
• During the charging process, make sure that the room is sufficiently ventilated.
• Do not leave the packaging material lying around. It could become a dangerous
toy for children. Therefore, dispose of packaging material that is no longer
required, or store it in a place that is not accessible to children. Risk of
asphyxiation!
• Do not let children or persons with restricted physical, sensory or mental abilities
or lack of experience and lack of knowledge use electrical devices or play with
them without supervision. Therefore, take particular care if there are children
around.
• This device is not designed for use by persons (including children) who have
reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities, or those with little experience or
knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety
during use of the device.
• The charger must no longer be used if the following situations arise, as it
is to be assumed that hazard-free operation is no longer possible. Contact
the technical customer service department (page 41), take the charger to
a motorcycle workshop, take it to one of our branches or dispose of it in an
environmentally friendly manner if:
• the product is not working or is not working properly (emitting smoke, burning
smell, heating up excessively, audible crackling noises, discolouration on the
device or adjacent surfaces)
