Protect the transducer from damage and wear. In addition to mechanical protection, this also includes
precautions to prevent damage due to environmental influences.
3.1 Minimum distance to fixed
obstacles
During installation, make sure that
there is a minimum distance
between the transducer housing
and fixed obstacles, such as
protective covers. The required
distance is specified in
EN 60079-14 and depends on the
applied gas group.

We recommend that both the
transducer and the magnet ring be
installed in non-magnetizable ma-

used to protect the transducer
from magnetic interference.

between the magnet ring and the
mounting surface of the BTL hous-
ing is shown in ➥ ➥ ➥ ➥ ➥ Fig. 3-1.
The BTL transducer is supplied
with either a 3/4"-16UNF or
M18×1.5 mounting thread. Sealing
is accomplished at the flange con-
tact surface using the supplied O-
ring.
