Steckdose, fassen Sie immer am Stecker an.

schlossen bzw. bedient oder nicht fachgerecht re-

rende Sach- oder Personenschäden und keine
Garantie für das Gerät übernommen werden.
Soll das Gerät endgültig aus dem Betrieb genom-
men werden, übergeben Sie es zur umweltgerech-
ten Entsorgung einem örtlichen Recyclingbetrieb.

Einsatzmöglichkeiten
Die CD-Player CD-40DJ und CD-40PRO sind spe-
ziell für den professionellen DJ-Bereich konzipiert.
Viele Funktionsmöglichkeiten sind genau auf diesen
Einsatzbereich abgestimmt, z. B. automatischer
Beatcounter, nahtlose Wiedergabe einer Endlos-
schleife, Einzeltitelwiedergabe oder Aktivierung von
Klangeffekten.
Auf beiden Modellen können Audio-CDs und
selbst gebrannte CDs (Audio CD-R) abgespielt wer-
den, der CD-40PRO erlaubt zusätzlich das Abspie-
len von CDs mit Titeln im MP3-Format. Bei wieder-
beschreibbaren CDs (CD-RW) kann es jedoch je
nach CD-Typ, verwendetem CD-Brenner und Brenn-
programm beim Abspielen zu Problemen kommen.
Der CD-Player ist mit einem Anti-Schock-Spei-
cher für 8 Sekunden ausgestattet, in den vor der
Wiedergabe die Musik eingelesen wird. Bei einer
Störung der CD-Abtastung durch Stöße oder Vibra-
tion wird die Musik aus dem Speicher gelesen. So
werden Tonunterbrechungen umgangen. Das Anti-
Schock-System kann jedoch keine anhaltenden
Stöße oder Vibrationen ausgleichen.

As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal in the plug which is
marked with the letter N or coloured black.
2. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.

Applications
The CD players CD-40DJ and CD-40PRO have
been specially designed for professional DJ applica-
tions. Many functional features have precisely been
matched to this range of application, e. g. automatic
beat counter, seamless replay of a continuous loop,
single title replay, or activation of sound effects.
On both models, it is possible to play audio CDs
and CDs which you have burnt yourself (audio
CD-R). The CD-40PRO additionally allows replay of
CDs with titles in the MP3 format. However, prob-
lems in replaying rewritable CDs (CD-RW) may
occur depending on the CD type, the CD burner, and
the burning software used.
The CD player is provided with an anti-shock
memory for 8 seconds where the music is read in
before it is replayed. If the CD sampling is disturbed
by shocks or vibrations, the music is read from the
memory. Thus, sound interruptions are prevented.
However, the anti-shock system is not able to com-
pensate permanent shocks or vibrations.

Gerät aufstellen und anschließen
Der CD-Player ist als freistehendes Gerät zu ver-
wenden und muss auf einer ebenen, waagerechten
Fläche aufgestellt werden. Vor dem Anschluss bzw.
vor dem Verändern von Anschlüssen den CD-Player
und das anzuschließende Gerät ausschalten.
1) Ist an Ihrem Mischpult oder Verstärker ein Digital-
eingang vorhanden, diesen an die gelbe Cinch-
Buchse DIGITAL OUT (30) anschließen.
Bei Geräten ohne Digitaleingang den Stereo-
Ausgang LINE OUT (29) – linker Kanal weiße
Buchse und rechter Kanal rote Buchse – über ein
Cinch-Kabel mit dem CD-Player-Eingang am
Mischpult oder am Verstärker verbinden.
2) Der CD-Player kann über ein Mischpult mit
Faderstart-Funktion gestartet bzw. auf Pause
geschaltet werden. Zum Anschluss der Steuer-
verbindung siehe Kap. 7.
3) Mit einem zweiten CD-Player CD-40DJ bzw. CD-
40PRO kann ein wechselseitiges Starten der
Wiedergabe erfolgen (siehe Kap. 5.3.3). Dazu
die Buchse RELAY (33) über ein Kabel mit
3,5-mm-Klinkensteckern (mono oder stereo) an
die gleiche Buchse des zweiten CD-Players an-
schließen.
4) Zuletzt den Netzstecker des Anschlusskabels
(35) in eine Steckdose (230 V~/50 Hz) stecken.

Bedienung
5.1 CD abspielen
1) Den
CD-Player
mit
dem
POWER (34) einschalten. Ist eine CD eingescho-
ben, leuchtet die LED DISC INSIDE (27) und
nach dem Einlesevorgang erscheinen im Display
(1) verschiedene Informationen zur CD (Kap.
5.2). Ist keine CD eingeschoben, wird
(keine CD) angezeigt.
2) Zum Einlegen einer CD diese mit der Beschrif-
tung nach oben so weit in den CD-Einzugsschlitz

Setting Up/Connecting the Unit
The CD-Player is to be used as a table top unit and
has to be placed on an even, horizontal surface.
Prior to making or changing any connections, switch
off the CD player and the unit to be connected.
1) If a digital input is provided on your mixer or am-
plifier, connect it to the yellow phono jack DIG-
ITAL OUT (30).
For units without digital input connect the ster-
eo output LINE OUT (29) – left channel white jack
and right channel red jack – via a cable with
phono connectors to the CD player input on the
mixer or amplifier.
2) The CD player can be started or set to pause via
a mixer with fader start function. For making the
control connection see chapter 7.
3) With a second CD player CD-40DJ or CD-40PRO
it is possible to start the replay alternately (see
chapter 5.3.3). For this purpose connect the jack
RELAY (33) via a cable with 3.5 mm plugs (mono
or stereo) to the same jack of the second CD
player.
4) Finally connect the mains plug of the connection
cable (35) to a mains socket (230 V~/50 Hz).

Operation
5.1 Replaying a CD
1) Switch on the CD player with the POWER switch
(34). If a CD is inserted, the LED DISC INSIDE
(27) will light up. After the CD has been read in,
various information concerning the CD (chapter
5.2) is indicated on the display (1). If no CD is in-
serted,
is displayed.
2) Insert a CD with the lettering facing upwards into
the CD slot (28) until it is automatically pulled in.
To insert another CD, first eject the current CD
with the button
(5).
In case of model CD-40PRO: For titles in the
MP3 format, "MP3" (c) is displayed and the file
(28) schieben, bis sie automatisch eingezogen
wird. Zum Einlegen einer anderen CD, zuerst die
momentane CD mit der Taste
Bei Modell CD-40PRO: Bei Titeln im MP3-For-
mat erscheint im Display die Anzeige „MP3" (c)
und der Dateiname des angewählten Titels wird

3) Zum Starten mit dem ersten Titel die Taste
(13) drücken. Während der Wiedergabe zeigt
das Display das Symbol
4) Zum Anwählen eines anderen Titels
a) die Titelnummer mit den Zifferntasten (6) an-
wählen [der Pfeil „EFFECT" (q) darf nicht
sichtbar sein, anderenfalls die Taste EFFECT
(19) drücken] oder
b) die Zehnersprungtaste +10 (4) und/oder die
Tasten TRACK SKIP (10) verwenden

auf Einzeltitelwiedergabe: Das Display zeigt
Ein-/Ausschalter
„SINGLE" (d). Ist ein Titel zu Ende gespielt,
schaltet das Gerät am Anfang des nächsten Titels
auf Pause. Soll jedoch ein Titel nach dem anderen
kontinuierlich gespielt werden, mit der Taste AUTO
CUE SINGLE/CONTINUE (18) auf Gesamttitel-
wiedergabe schalten (siehe auch Kapitel 5.3).
7) Soll das Abspielen einer CD vorzeitig beendet
werden, den CD-Player auf Pause schalten oder
das Laufwerk stoppen [Taste TIME/STOP (16)

7) To stop the CD replay at any time, set the unit to
pause or stop the player mechanism [keep button
TIME/STOP (16) pressed for more than 3 s]. To
eject the CD, press the button EJECT
