O
Have the correct open-end wrench ready.
O
Select appropriate sealing material for the expected
temperatures and loads (e.g. sealing rings, see online catalog).
O
Ensure that there is sufficient thread length at the installation
point for the mating thread.
O
The inlet line connectors to the safety valve should be as short
as possible. A maximum of 3% of the response pressure may
be lost.
1
Assembling the safety valve
1. Install the safety valve so that it faces vertically upwards. With
this mounting orientation, foreign matter can fall back into the
container or the piping.
2. Place the appropriate open-end wrench only on the wrench
flats (1) on the safety valve and tighten the screw connection.
Maximum tightening torque: M
Make sure that no remnants from sealants or dirt are on or in
the valve.
3. Connect an exhaust line (2).
Maximum tightening torque: M

Commissioning
Danger of injury due to ejected dirt particles and noise!
Dirt particles can be ejected with the medium discharged at the
2
safety valve
(1). In addition, heat and noise can be generated.
O
Wear safety goggles.
O
Wear hearing protection.
O
Wear gloves.
During first commissioning, the safety valve must be
blown out to ensure that any possible particles are
ejected.
2
Ventilating the safety valve
1. Pressurize the system.
This pressure should be at least 80-90% of the valve setting.
2. Turn the venting screw (2) to the left until the safety valve
blows off. Dirt particles will be ejected.
3. Turn the venting screw (2) to the right up to the stop.
The safety valve is now sealed again.
In order for the safety valve to properly close after
ventilating, the working pressure of the system should be
10 % below the closing pressure of the safety valve.

Service and Repairs

Fire danger!
The safety valve and the medium can become hot during
operation.
O
Wear safety goggles.
O
Wear gloves.
Cleaning and servicing
O
Clean the safety valve with a dry cloth and do not use any
aggressive media or cleaning agents. This could lead to
damage.
Maintenance
O
Check the safety valve at regular intervals for proper
functioning. The inspection intervals depend on the installation
and operating conditions. Also observe the inspection intervals
that apply to the system.
O
Check the safety valve for contaminants and mechanical
damage.
O
Ventilate the safety valve approx. every 3 months (see
"Commissioning").
8
Disposal
Dispose of the product in accordance with the national regulations
in your country.
