Set-in work

3
Note:
With set-in work the workpiece is
only partly cut into the lower surface; no
parting cut is made. It is thus necessary
for set-in work to remove the blade
guard and to set the riving knife to its
lower position.
Set-in work can be carried out in any
operating mode (table saw, radial pull
saw, mitre saw).
Preparation:
1.
Remove blade guard (59) from the
riving knife after loosening the wing
nut (57).
58
57
2.
Remove suction hose (58) from the
suction port on the saw's housing
and put aside, together with the
blade guard.
3.
Set riving knife (60) to its lower posi-
tion (see "Care and maintenance" –
"Riving knife setting").
4.
Set and secure mitre angle;
5.
Set saw blade tilt;
6.
Set depth of cut.

7.
Fit the fence (installation on the front
or side edges of the saw table, as
required).
Execution:
1.
Place workpiece against the auxil-
iary fence extrusion.
2.
Start saw.
3.
Cut workpiece by pulling the saw
blade towards you; to do so, slightly
lift the centralized control unit. Let
saw blade return to its rear home
position. Hold the workpiece down
on the table while cutting.
If no further set-in work is to be done
immediately afterwards:
4.
Switch machine OFF.
5.
Return riving knife to its upper posi-
tion and let engage.
6.
Reinstall suction hose and blade
guard.

9. Care and maintenance

59
A
Danger!
Prior to all servicing:
switch machine OFF;
wait for saw blade to stop.
unplug power cable;
Check that all safety devices are
operational again after each service.
Replace defective parts, especially
of safety devices, only with genuine
replacement parts. Parts not tested
and approved by the equipment
manufacturer can cause unforeseen
damage.
Repair and maintenance work other
than described in this section should
only be carried out by qualified spe-
cialists.
9.1
A
blade can be very hot – burning haz-
ard! Let a hot saw blade cool down.
Do not clean the saw blade with com-
bustible liquids. Risk of injury, even
with the blade at standstill. Wear
gloves when changing blades.
60
When assembling, the direction of
rotation of the saw blade and outer
flange must be observed!
