12. Cleaning, maintenance and recalibration
12.1 Cleaning of diaphragm monitoring system

Residual media at the dismounted instrument can result in a risk to persons,
the environment and equipment.

Take sufficient precautionary measures.
The exterior should only be cleaned when the instrument is closed and sealed. This

applies to the case head cover and all openings, e.g. the cable gland.
Use a cloth moistened with soapy water or isopropanol.

Electrical connections must not come into contact with moisture.
■
Wash or clean the dismounted instrument before returning it, in order to protect
■
persons and the environment from exposure to residual media.
12.2 Cleaning of diaphragm seal
With contaminated, viscous or crystallising media, it may be necessary to clean the
diaphragm from time to time. Only ever remove deposits from the diaphragm with a soft
brush and suitable solvent.
CAUTION!

Before cleaning, correctly disconnect the instrument from the pressure
supply, switch it off and disconnect it from the mains, if needed.
▶
Do not use sharp objects or aggressive detergents to clean in order to avoid
damage to the sensitive and extremely thin diaphragm.
▶
Clean the instrument with a moist cloth.
▶
Electrical connections, if available, must not come into contact with
moisture.
