Initial operation:
Putting into use
Danger of hands being crushed.
→ Always use a torque reaction bar for
applications in a restricted space or high
torque: inline tools (4 Nm), pistol grip tools
(10 Nm), right angle tools (60 Nm).
Application
Spindle Rotation
Performing a fastener rundown
The 48C series nutrunners have been configured by Apex
Tool Group. A setting for your specfic fastener joint must
only be made with the nutrunner controller by qualified

personnel
, The initial operation can vary depending on the
type and programming of the nutrunner controller. Refer to
the nutrunner controller Programming Manual.

→ Place the socket or bit on the application and depress the
switch actuator to start the rundown.
→ When the nutrunner shuts off, release the switch actuator.
→ Remove the nutrunner from the application.
Maintenance
Implement a comprehensive safety maintenance program
to provide regular inspection for all phases of tool operation
and air supply equipment.
Daily:
→ Visual inspection of all cables and connections
→ Visual inspection of all external tool components
→ Check the tool for excessive vibration or unusual noises
Approximately 100,000 Rundowns:
→ Inspect the tool cable for damage or wear
→ Inspect the tool cable connection for a secure fit
→ Inspect the output spindle for damage or wear
→ Verify the maximum free speed
Approximately 500,000 Rundowns:
→ Disassemble the tool and inspect all parts for damage or
wear and replace as necessary
→ Clean and lubricate the angle head, gearing, and motor
bearings
→ If equipped; recalibrate the transducer
Approximately 1,000,000 Rundowns:
→ Disassemble the tool and inspect all parts for damage or
wear and replace as necessary
→ Clean and lubricate the angle head, gearing, and motor
bearings
→ If equipped; recalibrate the transducer
Lubricants
Application of the assembly tool determines how frequently
it is greased. All gearing should receive a generous amount
of grease during each service interval.
