The waveform remains static until voltage changes are detected.

Initial battery voltage: When the ignition and engine are switched off (for more than 20 minutes), the discharge voltage
should be about 12 V. If the discharge voltage is below 11 V, it will be difficult to start. If the discharge voltage remains
continuously below 11 V, the battery is in poor health and should be replaced.
Starting voltage: During start-up, the voltage drops to a certain point; this minimum point is the start-up voltage. If the
starting voltage remains continuously below 7.5 V, the battery capacity is too low and it should be replaced.
Charging voltage: When the ignition is switched on and the engine is running, the alternator continuously charges the
car battery, normally at around 14 V.
Battery status corresponding to the battery voltage (after ignition).
Battery voltage
12.8 V - 13.2 V
13.2 V - 14.8 V
> 14.8V
Note: If, after a long journey, the battery voltage is 11.9 V, the battery voltage is still low and the battery could be da-
maged (if the alternator is working normally). Replace the battery as soon as possible.

Results and actions
The battery may not be charged; test the alternator or any other
electrical load.
