3.1.1 Wall mounting
The fastening materials must be chosen according to the physical characteristics of the wall.
The drilling pattern for the drinking bowl corresponds to DIN 11840-B.
It is recommended that a safety frame be mounted around the drinking bowl.
Item number 221971 - safety frame size 2 (not included in the scope of delivery), see
accessories.
3.1.2 Pipe mounting
The drinking bowl can be fitted to pipes with a diameter of at least 1" (25.4 mm) and up
to max. 3" (76.2 mm), using the pipe fastening clip item number 222019 (not included in the scope of delivery).
3.2 Connecting the water supply
1. Screw the water inlet into the upper or lower 1/2" connection, and tighten it by hand.
2. Screw a sealing plug into the unused 1/2" connection..
The drinking bowl is also suitable for use with circulating systems and can be connected simultaneously
below and above.
3. Seal the upper and lower connection with a small quantity of sealing tape
(recommendation: Loctite 55 pipe sealing cord).
4. Bleed the water line thoroughly. Install automatic bleed valves as required.
5. Flush the water line, pipe valve and drinking bowl thoroughly. Newly-laid pipelines can contain loose production
residues (metal filings, sand or deposits).
3.3 Drinking bowl without auxiliary pipe heating (222040 and 222045) – electrical installa-
tion with auxiliary pipe heating – see 3.4
1. Before installation, read and comply with the safety instructions in these operating instructions.
2. Ensure that the area around the pipeline is easily accessible and that no sharp edges are present.
3. Connect ("earth") pipelines, protective tubes and sheathing made of metal to a protective conductor.
4. Allow the supply cable to warm up to room temperature +20 °C before beginning the installation.
5. The heating cable's electrical continuity, resistance and insulation resistance must be checked before beginning
installation,
and also after installation, but always before connecting the power supply.
Important! The resistance value before and after installation must match the value on the product label or in the table below.
A tolerance of + -5 % to +10 % is allowed. The insulation resistance must be more than 10 MOhm. (See: Table 1)

6. Even if neither end of the heating cable is heated, check for damage in any case.
7. Protect pipelines from frost and, if necessary, equip the pipeline with an additional heating cable and insulation.
8. The insulation must be protected with an additional waterproof sheath which is laid helically over the ....................
insulation to prevent moisture ingress.
9. Route the supply cable over the insulation towards the power supply. Here, note the following instructions:
- Fix both supply lines to the insulation, using aluminium adhesive tape.
- Route the cables so that they are out of the reach of animals.
