Slide the new saw chain in the slot around the chain bar. En-
sure correct running direction of saw chain. For this, com-
pare the saw chain with the rotation symbol on the bar.
Fit the new saw chain onto the drive sprocket (23) and the
chain bar (2) over the guide fin (24). Ensure that all parts
are seated properly. Re-fit the cover (22) and tighten the
two fixing screws (25).
Check the saw chain tension before each use. Tension the
saw chain using the tensioning screw (5) if necessary.
If the chain bar needs to be replaced, always use a chain bar
with tip protector.
Do not use the machine if the cover (22) is broken or incor-
rectly attached.
Operation
Switching on and off (see figure M)
To switch on the power tool, first press the lock-off
switch (14) and then press the On/Off switch (16). Keep the
On/Off switch pressed while operating the machine. You can
release the lock-off switch while the tool is switched on.
To switch off the power tool, release the On/Off switch
(16).
Do not continue to press the on/off switch after the
u
tool has been automatically switched off. This can
damage the battery.

Working Advice
Before Cutting
Before starting operation and periodically during cutting,
carry out the following checks:
– Is the pole pruner in a fail-safe condition?
– Is the oil reservoir filled? Check oil level gauge prior to
starting and regularly during operation. Refill oil when the
oil level has reached the bottom edge of the oil level indic-
ator. The oil tank filling will last approx. 15 minutes, de-
pending on sawing intensity and stops.
– Is the saw chain properly tensioned and sharp?
General Behaviour (see figure N)
The chain must be running at full speed before it makes con-
tact with the wood.
Pruning straight through a tree branch from the top edge
down is appropriate for branches up to 5 cm in diameter.
Thicker branches should be pruned in three-steps, to pre-
vent damaging the tree.
Do not force the saw chain while cutting, let the chain do the
work.
Sawing is optimized when the chain speed remains steady
during cutting.
