SAFETY
The product described in this manual is designed for use in industry, aqueducts, irrigation and similar. As such, it may only be handled, installed,
operated, serviced, repaired and dismantled by specialized technicians possessing the necessary qualifications and equipped with adequate tools.
Such technicians must have read and understood the contents of this manual and any other documentation supplied along with the product.
Always comply with all the safety, accident-prevention and anti-pollution instructions in the manual during each individual operation, together with all
the more restrictive local provisions in force.
Take great care of the smooth rotating shaft in the packing gland area when the pump is operating since it could catch on garments, long hair and
such.
Take care when the driving unit and the pump operate with hot water since high temperatures could make the surfaces very hot to touch.
Do not use water to extinguish fires in the electrical parts.
For safety reasons and to ensure compliance with the warranty conditions, the purchaser is forbidden to use the product should this become faulty
or in the event of a sudden variation in the performances of the product itself.
Installation must be such as to prevent accidental contacts which could represent a hazard for persons, animals and property.
Inspection and servicing procedures must be carried out to prevent all forms of risk following malfunction of the pump unit.
Consult the "Handling and storage" chapter for safe handling and storage.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PRODUCT AND USE
3.1
Technical and operative characteristics
The pumps described in this manual have one or two centrifugal impellers installed in series and operating with the shaft projection spinning in
an anticlockwise direction. They have an axial suction port and radial discharge port (tangential in version BHD), a pump shaft and drive shaft
supported by roller bearings and connected to a pair of cylindrical helical gears, all lubricated with oil. The pumps can be coupled to the slow power
take off of an internal combustion engine by means of a cardan shaft.
When the product is installed according to the instructions given in this manual and in compliance with the diagrams, the acoustic pressure level
issued by the machine is always at least 5 dB(A) lower than that issued by the internal combustion engine.
Guaranteed noise values can be supplied on request when the pump unit is ordered.
In particular:
- noise measurement is conducted according to ISO 3746;
- in compliance with Directive EEC, the gauging points are 1 meter from the reference surface of the machine and 1.6 meters from ground or access
platform level;
- there is a ± 3 dB(A) tolerance on the values;
- the pump values are gauged at the maximum efficiency point.
3.2
Fields of use
The standard version of the products has been designed to pump clear water in fixed or mobile irrigation systems.
3.3
Inadvisable uses: ATTENTION
The standard version of the product is not suitable for:
- dry operation;
- pumping liquids differing from soft, clear, cold, chemically and mechanically non-aggressive water;
- pumping liquids with a solid concentration exceeding 20 g/m
- pumping inflammable liquids;
- operation in places with a classified risk of explosion;
- operation in a closed place for longer than 10 minutes;
- a suction pressure lower than the required NPSH (consult the technical or commercial documentation or contact Caprari S.p.A. for details);
- an operating pressure exceeding that delivered by the pump at closed valve at the maximum tolerated rotation speed (consult the "Operating
limits" table in chapter 10 "Technical data");
- a rotation speed exceeding the limits given in the table (consult the "Operating limits" table in chapter 10 "Technical data");
- excessively irregular operation caused, for example, by a low tractor engine rate;
- operation in abnormal conditions for the tractor engine (consult the specific use and maintenance manual with which the engine must be supplied);
- operation with an angle between pump and machine exceeding 15°.
Consult the technical or commercial documentation of Caprari S.p.A. and/or the data in the order confirmation for the limits to the use of special
versions of the product.
Make sure that the product conforms to any pertinent local laws.
