Electrostimulation usually only has an effect after regular
application and does not replace regular training. However, it
is a sensible, supplementary training element.
This device also features a soothing heat function that can be
activated if desired to enable even more pain relief.
TENS, or transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation,
relates to the electrical stimulation of the nerves via the skin.
TENS is an effective non-pharmacological method of treating
different types of pain from a variety of causes and has no
side effects if administered correctly. This method has been
clinically tested and approved and can be used for simple
self-treatment. The pain-relieving or pain-suppressing effect
is achieved by inhibiting the transference of pain to nerve
fibers (caused mainly by high-frequency impulses) and by
increasing secretion of endorphins in the body, which
reduces the sensation of pain. This method is scientifically
substantiated and approved as a form of medical treatment.
Any symptoms that can be relieved using TENS must be
checked by your doctor, who will also instruct you on how to
perform TENS self-treatment. TENS is designated to be used
for temporary relief of pain associated with sore and aching
muscles in the shoulder, waist, back, upper extremities (arm)
and lower extremities (leg) due to strain from exercise or normal
household work activities.
Electrical muscle stimulation (EMS) is a widespread and
generally recognized method that has been used in sports
medicine and rehabilitation for years. In sports and fitness,
EMS is used to complement conventional muscle training,
increase the performance of muscle groups, and adjust
physical proportions to achieve desired aesthetic results. The
EMS activating application is for targeted strengthening of
the muscles.
EMS activating application involves:
• Muscle training to increase endurance
• Muscle training to support strengthening of specific
muscles or muscle groups as well as achieve desired
changes to physical proportions
To alleviate discomfort more effectively, this device features
soothing heat in two stages, with a maximum heat
generation of about 110° F (43° C). Heat promotes blood
circulation and exerts a relaxing effect. The heat function
can be used in conjunction with or separately from other
functions.
The positioning suggestions and program tables in these
instructions let you quickly and simply determine the
corresponding application (depending on the affected area
of the body) and set the unit to achieve the desired effects.
This digital EMS/ TENS unit features two separately
adjustable channels to let you set the intensity of the impulses
independently from each other for two treatment areas on the
body. For example, you could treat both sides of your body
or evenly stimulate larger areas. You can treat two separate
areas of the body simultaneously instead of having to treat the
individual areas in turn, which saves time.
