It is wel! known that m many cases heat can alleviate pain and speed
up the process of recovery. This heat is administered in a very effective
and practical way by means of Philips Infraphil. The Infraphil warms
the skin and the underlying tissues in such a way that the blood-vesseis
are dilated and the flow of blood is stimulated. The blood brings with
it the substances for rebuilding and nourishing the body tissues, thus
healing is promoted and pain soothed away.
First check whether the lamp matches the mains voltage in your house.
The voltage is indicated on the front of the bulb.
Distance from the skin — The distance should be such that the warmth
is comfortable without any sensation of burning. In general 12-20 inches
(30-50 cm).
Irradiation time — There is no limit to the number of treatments. A treat-
ment of 15 minutes twice a day usually gives the best results.
Note — Certain pain-killing preparations reduce the body's sensitivity
to heat. Treatment with the Infraphil should not be given where these
are being taken.
Important
1. Inflammable substances should be kept away from the rays of the
lamp: combs or spectacle frames, etc. might catch fire. fabrics might
get scorched.
2. Keep the eyes closed when irradiating the face.
3. Avoid sudden cooling immediately after treatment (especially the
head).
4. Do not subject the lamp to heavy shocks, do not put it down too a-
bruptly nor jolt the lamp, particularly while it is still hot.
5. After switching off the lamp, allow it to cool off for some minutes
before storage.
This is where your Infraphil helps

ment daily until the pain has completely disappeared. In the case of
rheumatism of the joints first consult your doctor.

dent and continue the treatment until all pain and stiffness have dis-
appeared.

medical treatment, promotes rapid healing. !f inflammation is extensive

cold feet. etc. are due to a reduced blood circulation. Treatment with
the Infraphil improves the blood circulation. It is important, however.
that this treatment is starled m time.
Beauty treatment
Treatment with Infraphil stimulates the blood circulation; this helps to
keep the skin smooth and clean (the formation of wrinkles. black-
heads and clogged pores is checked). Furthermore. cosmetic prepa-
rations are more readily absorbed when the Infraphil is used before and
after applying the creams. The Infraphil is suitable for both a dry and
greasy skin.

with massage of the scalp. may provide a speedy cure for temporary
hair loss.

or simultaneous treatment with the Infraphil, so that subcutaneous hae-
morrhage and accumulations of fat and fluid etc. disappear more rapidly.
The Infraphil in sport
If the Infraphil is applied before a sporting event. the supply of blood
is increased. so that the sportman's condition is improved. During the
intervals use the Infraphii, if necessary. combined with massage, to
dispei tiredness. muscuiar cramp and stiffness. Minor mjuries such as
sprains. bruises. etc. are treated effectively.

ed domestic animals. e.g. for healing bruises. strains. muscuiar pain
(of racehorses and greyhounds). eczema. bald patches, inflammation
of the skin and nipples. swollen hoeks and badly healing wounds. Also
