Proceed as follows:
1. Start a test run.
2. Check whether the settings on the ELGL-... /controller have to be changed.
Deviations in positioning accuracy or overswing of the system could be
caused by the following:
-
additional mass too high
-
dynamics too high
-
mechanical structure tends to vibrate
-
incorrect parametrisation on the controller
-
resistance to shifting too high (stress with fitting/plug-in parts).
3. If necessary, repeat the test run.
When all necessary corrections have been made:
4. End the test run.
5. Check the settings of the test run in continuous operation. In order to do
this, you must extend the test run of the linear axis until it reaches the
thermic steady state.

Operation

Warning
Ensure the following in the movement area around the linear axis
nobody can place his/her hand in the path of the moving parts
(e.g. by providing a protective crate)
there are no objects obstructing the positioning path.
It should not be possible to touch the linear axis until all moving parts have
come to a complete standstill and the power supply has been switched off.
Check that the linear axis is in its proper condition prior to every applica-
tion. The linear axis must not be operated in the event of defects or dam-
age relevant to safety.
Only operate the linear axis when all protective equipment, e.g. covers and
protective enclosures are present, properly installed and are completely
functional.
Protective equipment and safety devices must never be removed, changed
or put out of operation during operation. Any type of tampering with safety
devices is forbidden.
