The delay times for opening the clamping unit with pressurisation is largely
dependent on the capacities in the compressed air system and is approx.
100 ms if no air reservoirs and short cables are used.
Warning
The clamping function of the air cushion bearing through switching off the air
supply can only be used as a clamping function. Using it as a service brake
leads to the bearing surfaces being damaged and thus to the destruction of
the motor system. The actuation of the clamping function must only be used
during a system standstill.
Warning
When the valve is connected to an external control system or PLC, you must
make sure that the compressed air is only switched off or on during standstill
and that, if necessary, adequate waiting times prior to or after the controller's
Enable are available so that no undesired movements of the drive are gener-
ated or so as not to overload the drive.

Installation of system technical fittings

Warning
Danger of crushing due to uncontrolled movements. The linear axis is not self-
locking when the compressed air is switched on.
Make sure that the linear axis is brought into a stable position in the event the
operating voltage is switched off or if there is a power failure.
In the event the operating voltage is switched off or if there is a power failure,
the linear axis can be brought into a stable position by:
Setting down the linear axis at the lowest point

Switching off the compressed air, e.g. controlled via the controller
•
Using the gravity compensation from the accessories kit
•
Use the linear axis only in conjunction with a separately switched emergency
stop circuit.
