1. Product Description and Applications
Midisart 2000 ready-to-connect filtration
units consist of a hydrophobic (PTFE)
membrane filter in a polypro pylene housing.
They can be ordered sterile and non-sterile.
The filtration unit can be repeatedly
autoclaved. They are available with 0.2 µm
and 0.45 µm pore size membranes, and are
ideally suitable for all small-scale air|gas
sterilizing purposes, such as:
– Filling and transfer vessels
– Holding and storage tanks for sterile media
– Autoclaves
– Small (single-use) fermenters
– Disposable bags | bottles and tubing
systems
– Carboys
– Solvent filtration
– Single-use assemblies
The excellent chemical stability of these
practical units also makes them useful for
removal of particles from chemicals and
organic solvents.
The female luer connection in the hose nipple
allows the unit to be firmly fitted onto an
appropriate syringe.

Midisart units can also be used for
the filtration of aqueous liquids, but the
hydrophobic PTFE membrane filter must first
be wetted with a water-miscible solvent, such
as ethanol.
