WARNING
!
• Always assess the risk of entrapment if the support surface is used on a bed that is not from Umano Medical.
Do not place the patient on the surface if there are any gaps between the mattress and the siderails and/
or the head and foot boards. If not, situation could become hazardous for patient fall or patient entrapment.
• Ensure to perform a complete evaluation of patient's condition and to assess the risks associated with
mattress use. In accordance with the performed evaluation, a higher siderails option could help reduce the
assessed risks when using a mattress of 8" or more.
• If the siderails are completely raised, ensure they are properly locked to reduce the risks of patient fall. If
not avoided, situation could result in patient injuries.
ATTENTION
!
• A minimum of two people is required to transport and/or install the surfaces.
• Patient monitoring and patient-authorized bed functionalities are the responsibility of the facility.
Steps list for set up
1. Before using the product, ensure that all packaging materials have been removed.
2. Ensure that the dimensions of the mattress match the dimensions of the bed used.
3. Perform a complete visual inspection of the support surface to ensure there are no damages to the product.
4. Place the mattress directly on the bed frame. Ensure to install the mattress in the appropriate orientation,
following the pictogram at foot end of the mattress, visible on the mattress top cover.
5. To move the mattress, use the transport handles situated on each side of the mattress, at head end or foot
end. Ensure that the patient and/or any other equipment is removed from the mattress before moving the
mattress.
