Safety disconnection LR-2.SI
The IKA LR-2.SI safety dis-
NOTICE
connector disconnects the labo-
ratory reactor system from the
mains power supply when the
red EMERGENCY STOP button is
pressed. The safety disconnec-
tor must be actively switched
on again if the power supply is
interrupted. The devices cannot
automatically restart.
You can mount the safety disconnector power box on either
the left or the right aluminium profile using two slider blocks.
Insert the slider blocks into the profile groove with the
spring-loaded ball to the back. You do not need to remove
the baseplate. Position the slider blocks in the profile in such
a way that you can screw on the power box with the two
M6 cheese-head screws using the SW5 Allen key.
Slide the wireless safety switch down to the bottom end of
the top (thicker) stand rod and secure it using the clamping
screw.
The assembled safety switch should be pointing downwards.
Turn the bracket so that is positioned in such a way that it
will not prevent you from operating the clamping screw for
the stand properly.
Lower the stand until the reactor cover is sitting on top
of the reactor vessel and secure it in this position by tigh-
Use of dispersing element
Use of a dispersing element is
NOTICE
only permitted when the reac-
tor contains a workingvolume
of at least 800 ml.
Using a dispersing element
with volumes lower than this
will result in dry running which
will damage the axial face seal
in the dispersing element.
The following dispersing elements can be used with the
ULTRA TURRAX T 25 drive unit:
All parts in contact with the medium are made of 1.4571
stainless steel or FFPM/SIC. The minimum/maximum
immersion depth is 40/225 mm. These dispersing ele-
ments can be used in the reactor system at vacuums of
up to 25 mbar.
The LR 2000.40 shaft holder is necessary to install the dis-
persing element in the reactor cover.

tening the knurled screws.
Fit the second safety switch (with cable) to the bottom
(thinner) stand rod in this position and secure it so that it is
approx. 5 mm away from the top safety switch.
Align the two switches with each other.
Attach the socket bracket to the top of the stand and place
the multi-socket on top.
Connect the mains plugs of the stirrer drive and the disperser
drive (if you are using one) to the multi-socket on the safety
disconnector.
Fix the power cables together with cable ties.
Connect the power supply cable of the safety disconnector
to your power supply.
Switch on the laboratory stirrer drive at its main switch. Close
the reactor cover and press the green button on the safety
box. The stirrer drive will start up.
To switch off the stirrer drive, press the red button or open
the reactor cover.

The limit switch trigger on the stand rod (switch distance
approx. 5 mm) also breaks the circuit if the reactor cover is
open. This prevents any danger from rotating elements such
as anchor stirrers or dispersing elements.
The safety disconnector must be switched back on again
each time it is switched off (use the green button). After a
power failure it will also be necessary to switch on the safe-
ty disconnector.
