Central ventilation unit – KWL 890 W/W ET
• Auxiliary heating (only if extension module is configured)
• No
• Yes
ⓘ This function is only available in combination with an extension module KWL-EM eC.
• Heater type (depending on configuration on the extension module)
• Warm water heating element
• Electric heating element
• Maximum intake temperature setting
The auxiliary heating is activated if the temperature falls below the set value.
8.6.9 Bypass settings
Define settings for the heat exchanger bypass:
• Bypass
If necessary, the intake air can be directed past the heat exchanger using the bypass function.
– Activate bypass: Intake air is directed past the heat exchanger.
– Deactivate bypass: Intake air is directed through the heat exchanger.
• Variable bypass
ⓘ The bypass function must be activated, otherwise the variable bypass cannot be activated.
The set supply air temperature can be controlled efficiently using the variable bypass. For this purpose, the actual
temperature in the room is measured and compared with the set supply air temperature setpoint. If there is a diffe-
rence, the bypass position will be automatically controlled to achieve the set supply air temperature as accurately
as possible.
• Activate/deactivate cold recovery system
The living spaces are ventilated with supply air that is as cool as possible by activating the cold recovery system. The
bypass function depends on the temperature level of the intake air in relation to the room temperature.
Bypass ON
Intake air is cooler than the room air. The intake air flows directly into the living spaces as supply air.
Bypass OFF Intake air is warmer than the room air. The intake air is cooled by the extract air via the heat exchanger.
• Cool recovery
• No
• Yes
8.6.10 Heat exchanger
Define heat exchanger type:
• Aluminium
• Plastic
• Enthalpy
8.6.11 Save / Restore
Save or restore unit and user settings:
• Commissioning settings
• Save commissioning settings
• Restore commissioning settings
• User settings
• Save user settings
• Restore user settings
• Restore factory settings

Unit maintenance
The unit must be checked for contamination and dirt (visual inspection) as needed or at least every
m
Danger to life due to electric shock
An electric shock can result in death or serious injuries.
> Before opening the unit, the unit must be fully isolated from the power supply.
> The unit may only be opened by a trained person or an authorised electrician.
m
Risk of injury due to rotating fans!
Rotating fans can injure limbs and cause serious injuries.
> Before working on the unit, wait until the fans are turned off.
m
