Connecting the on-board computer with
the eBike Connect app
Follow these steps to establish a connection to your
smartphone:
– Load the app.
– Select the <My eBike> tab.
– Select <Add new eBike device>.
– Add Kiox.
The app will then display an instruction to press and
hold the bike lighting button (3) on the on-board
computer for five seconds.
Press and hold the button (3) for at least five sec-
onds. The on-board computer automatically activates
the Bluetooth® Low Energy connection and switches
to pairing mode.
Follow the instructions on the screen. Once pairing is
complete, the user data is synchronized.
Note: The Bluetooth® connection does not need to be
activated manually.
Navigation
The navigation function of Kiox assists you when ex-
ploring unfamiliar areas. You can start navigation on
your smartphone. The on-board computer is net-
worked with this via Bluetooth® and shows the
planned journey on the display as a line indicating the
route.
Activity tracking
In order to record activities, it is necessary to register
and log into the online portal eBike Connect or the
app eBike Connect.
To record activities, you must consent to the storage
of your location data either in the portal or in the app.
Without this, your activities will not be shown in the
portal or the app. The position is only recorded if you
as a user are logged into the on-board computer.
eShift (optional)
eShift is the integration of an electronic gear shifting
system into the eBike. The eShift components are
electrically connected to the drive unit by the manu-
facturer. The separate operating instructions de-

scribe how to operate the electronic gear-shifting sys-
tems.
eSuspension (optional)
eSuspension is the integration of electronic shock ab-
sorption and suspension elements into the eBike. You
can use the Quick Menu to select predefined settings
for the eSuspension system.
For details of these settings, please refer to the oper-
ating instructions provided by the eSuspension man-
ufacturer.
eSuspension is only available in combination with the
Kiox on-board computer and can only be used with
the Performance Line CX (BDU450, BDU480) and
Performance Line Speed (BDU490P) drive units.
Lock (premium function)
The Lock function is available to purchase from
the <Shop> in the eBike Connect app. Once the
Lock function is switched on, the drive unit assistance
is deactivated by disconnecting the on-board com-
puter. It can only then be activated using the on-
board computer associated with the eBike.

Software updates
Software updates are transferred from the app to the
on-board computer in the background as soon as the
app is connected with the on-board computer. If an
update has been fully transferred, this is shown three
times upon restarting the on-board computer. The
update can then be started. The eBike should not be
used during the update.
Alternatively, you can check for the presence of any
updates via <Sys settings> and then start these.
Powering external devices from the USB
port
The USB port can be used to operate or charge most
devices that can be powered via USB (e.g. various
mobile phones).
