BIAS button (+, —)

When you press the + or — BIAS button the display switches to
BIAS. The left channel level meter displays the current amount of
bias, and the right channel
level meter displays the bias scale.
Continuously press the + or — button to adjust recording bias.
The left channel level meter displays the current bias amount, and
the right channel
level meter changes to the bias meter scale
when the + or — button is pressed once.
Each time the button is pressed, the recording bias can be ad-
justed in steps of 3% of the reference bias current within a range
of —15%
and +15%
(CT-43, CT-S820S, CT-S620) or —20%
and
+20% (CT-95, CT-S920S).
If the bias current is over or under the reference bias current, the
bias indicator will flash rapidly. Set the bias current within the
—15% or + 15% range.
Press the + BIAS button to increase recording bias current from
the reference bias current, and the indicator will move to the right
(+15%). High frequency level and distortion are decreased when
recording bias is increased from the reference.
Press the — BIAS button to decrease recording bias current from
the reference bias current, and the indicator will move to the left
(—15%). High frequency level and distortion are increased when
recording bias is decreased from the reference.
Adjust the recording bias precisely to suit the tape and music
source you are using to record.

When the + or — BIAS button is pressed, the left and right channel
level meters automatically change from bias mode to the previous
mode after about 4 seconds.
To adjust recording bias continuously:
Press and hold the + or — BIAS button to move the bias indicator
to the left or right.
To set recording bias to its reference:
Press the + and — BIAS buttons at the same time to set the bias
indicator to the reference position of the meter.
For fine adjustment of recording bias
(CT-95, CT-S920S only):
Use the METER
RANGE
button (or the METER
MODE
button) to
perform fine adjustment of the recording bias in 64 steps between
—20% and +20% as follows:

Lorsque la touche de polarisation (BIAS) + ou — est enfoncée, l'af-

trement peut étre ajustée en pas de 3% du courant de polarisation
de référence dans une plage de —15% a +15% (CT-43, CT-S820S,
CT-S620) ou de —20% à +20% (CT-95, CT-S920S).
Si le courant de polarisation est supérieur ou inférieur au courant
de polarisation de référence, l'indicateur de polarisation clignote
rapidement. Régler le courant de polarisation dans la plage de
—15% à +15%.
Appuyer sur la touche + BIAS pour augmenter le courant de pola-
risation d'enregistrement par rapport au courant de polarisation
de référence et l'indicateur se déplace vers la droite (+15%). Le
niveau des hautes fréquences et la distorsion sont réduits lorsque
la polarisation d'enregistrement est augmentée par rapport au ni-
veau de référence.
Appuyer sur la touche — BIAS pour diminuer le courant de polari-
sation d'enregistrement par rapport au courant de polarisation de
référence et l'indicateur se déplace vers la gauche (—15%). Le ni-
veau des hautes fréquences et la distorsion sont augmentés lors-
que la polarisation d'enregistrement est réduite par rapport au ni-
veau de référence.

tre.
