F2:CHANGE TO REMOVAL MODE
A function mainly used for mineralogy.
Press F2:CHANGE TO REMOVAL MODE. Grind the ceramic
plate of the vacuum holder so that it is plane parallel to the cup
wheel.
After the grinding press F1:RESET to set the relative X-position
to zero and press F2: CHANGE TO STOP POS. MODE.
Define the desired final thickness of the glass plate you want to
grind by setting the "Stop grinding at position:" to the required
value.
Move the holder away from the cup wheel to allow the glass
plate to be inserted.
Place the glass plate on the vacuum holder.
Reposition the glass plate close to the cup wheel.
Press START
thickness.
Press F1:RESET to set the relative X-position to zero.
Move the holder with the glass plate away from the cup wheel to
allow the sample to be inserted.
Mount the sample on the glass plate and define the thickness of
the sample by resetting the Stop grinding at position: to the new
value.
Reposition the sample close to the cup wheel.
Press START
thickness.
To facilitate the production of thin sections, using permanent start positions,
Accutom-50 can recall the original position settings.
When changing back to a grinding method which has been used before you
will see F1:RECALL REL. X. POS Pressing F1 will recall the original relative
positions. To move the sample to these positions, go to the X and Y position
screen and press F3:MOVE TO REL. ZERO
