COMMISSIONING
Withdraw the salt gate, then the cover of the well.
Carefully withdraw brine valve (rep. 13) from the well,
then check the dimension "X" (cf. Table 1.2) which is
factory-preset.
Then replace the brine valve in the well, then close it
with its cover. Make use of the salt gate being
withdrawn to make up the salt and then replace the
gate correctly.
Flush the installation by pressing key 1 of the control box
for 5 seconds. Gently turn on the water to be treated.
The water will flow to the drain. Allow it to flow for at
least 10 minutes. Then interrupt the regeneration by
simultaneously pressing the keys 1 and 2.
The flow ceases and the screen shows the programmed
time or cycle.
The BEWAMAT is now ready to produce softened water.
For volumetric versions Se and BIO, check the count of
the
control
box
by
downstream (cycle display) (allow at least 1 litre to
flow).
ADJUSTMENT OF TOTAL RESIDUAL HARDNESS
Adjust the residual hardness (rep.12) of treated water by
proceeding as follows. Use a total hardness test
available from you reseller. Carry out a sampling of the
treated water and follow the indications furnished by
the total hardness test. Gently work on the system of
adjustment of total hardness of the BEWAMAT valve to
modify the residual hardness and thus obtain the
desired approximate value.
Screw the knob B down, then undo it by ½ or ¾ turn.
Open a tap at a low flow rate downstream of the
softener, and adjust the residual hardness by turning
knob A clockwise to increase the residual hardness or
counter clockwise to reduce it.
After adjustment, fully open several taps to obtain a
high flow rate, then screw in knob B if the residual
hardness is too high, or unscrew it if the hardness is too
low.
REGENERATION
To trigger a regeneration manually, press key 1 for 5
seconds, then release it. Regeneration will then proceed
automatically. An internal by-pass makes it possible to
distribute raw water during its regeneration.

For the softener with option BIO, the
appear after a regeneration. It means that the
electronics has not detected a good quality of brine
during the brine suction step.
Reset the fault by pressing the touch 2 and start a new
regeneration if the total hardness at the outlet is not
good.
Ensure the presence of regenerating salt in the brine
tank.
AUTO / MANU
Key 3 "Auto/Manu" makes it possible to interrupt the
automatic functioning of the program of softener. Press
point
key 3 for 5 seconds, then release it. The symbol
appears on the screen.
This mode of functioning must occasionally be used,
because the regeneration of your equipment at the
end of the cycle can only take place on the
intervention by an operative by pressing key 1 for 5
seconds.
To revert to automatic functioning, press key 3 for 5
seconds. The symbol
The BEWAMAT is protected against current interruptions.
All programmed information such as the time, the
parameters of regeneration, consumption, averages,
etc. are saved.
MAINTENANCE
It is necessary to check regularly and, according to
consumption, the level of the regenerating salt in the
brine tank. When the equipment is in operation, the
water in the tank must not be above the salt. Top up the
salt regularly via the salt filling gate situated above the
tank.
Once a year or when the symbol
completely take off salt tablets and drain the brine tank.
Correctly clean inside the brine tank as well as the floor
and take off solid wastes.
After that, put back the floor.
Change the cartridge of the filter installed before the
softener.
Verify the residual hardness once a month, using a total
hardness test downstream the softener and repeat the
total hardness adjustment, if necessary.
After these operations, the symbol
pressing during 5 seconds the keys 4 and 5 in the same
time.
Every
technical
maintenance. The maintenance must be carried out
once a year or twice a year in the case of collective
installations, and every time that the symbol
on the screen. This must be carried out, according to
the standard in force, by a qualified technician.
The total volume of softened water and the number of
regenerations achieved by the softener can be
checked at any time by pressing the key 4.
